I was part of a small group of frends that booked Chateau Mcely for a Board Retreat, and what a treat it was! Five days of pure luxury! This unique bed and breakfast has beautiful, bright, and lavishishly decorated rooms, each with its own theme. The furnishings, fireplaces, handpainted walls, and silk fabrics all make for a warm and comfortable environment! There is a fabulous restaurant in the Chateau, as well as a wine cellar, and a full day spa. The staff was warm, friendly and extremely helpful in every way. Chateau Mcely is adjacent to the St. George forest, which has wonderful trees and walking trails. The
Chateau 's more than 100 year history is very interesting, and the new owner's have done a magnificent job in the restoration process; preserving the best of the past, and infusing it with the best of the present!
Chateau Mcely is located only an hour from the city of Prague. It's a must see, and I can hardly wait to return!

Situated on a private forest reserve close to a charming Czech village, the Chateau's exceptional service is only exceeded by the delicious food and the newly rennovated interior.

We were close to Prague's excitement, and whisked back to another, slower and more elegant time and place when back at the Chateau.

We were very fortunate to have conversation with the lovely and engaging owners who shared history of the area and wonderful dialogue with us.

Chateau Mcely was truly one of the highpoints of my European travels.

We had a wonderful lunch in a truly amazing rural setting. The presentation, food, wine selections and service were outstanding. The owners and the staff were very friendly and made us feel special. We did not stay at the hotel but visited the various suites and were impressed by the appointments and taste of decorations.
Overall a very nice place to spend a special occasion.

While living in Prague (about 75 min drive from Mcely) we went to Chateau Mcely to celebrate my wife's birthday. This hotel is unique in the Czech Republic, providing perfect service in a perfectly restored historical (small) castle - most other historic hotel properties in the country are superficially restored and their service reminds you of the pre-revolution times.
As a special, not requested treat he hotel had prepared a birthday surprise for my wife - a candlelight gourmet dinner in the Golden Room, all by ourselves. It was truly magic. My wife also enjoyed a superb massage. The tranquility of the location, the wide view over the surroundings (at least from our top floor room), the nicely landscaped but still natural park around the castle, and last but not least the warm and friendly, accomodating hospitality of the staff and the owners make for a truly memorable experience.
Strong recommendation - in my view the very best hotel in the Czech Republic and much better than most in Germany or Austria!
