“Beautiful, but not 4 Star.”

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Bowie, Maryland
Aug 4, 2008

This hotel is beautiful upon entrance into the spacious lobby.... The location is excellent... within walking distance of Chinatown, Verizon Center, and nightlife.

We reserved a king room, which had a beautiful, comfortable bed. We both agreed that the bed was THE most comfortable we've slept in within the past few years of travelling.... if ever. My bf and I enjoyed the well appointed rooms, but like others say, the bathrooms are quite small. Also, the tiles and shower curtain in the br reminded me of the late 80s as opposed to 2008.

We received a steal via Priceline $65/night. Clincher is the valet parking, which is $18/night. All in all it was worth it. I would definitely stay at The Renaissance again.

    • Disliked — Not much... Maybe the fee for valet parking.

“Beautiful, comfortable and convenient.”

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

Jul 29, 2008

My wife and I wanted a romantic getaway in DC, and we got a great rate through Priceline (linking there from biddingfortravel.com). The hotel is only a few blocks from Chinatown and museums, and Metro stops (making it close to everywhere in DC.) The staff is professional, courteous, and always smiling. The spaceous lobby is a great place to relax with a glass of wine. Our room was clean, and we had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on, with a comfortor so light and smooth that we felt we were draped in merengue! I would probably give them five stars, but we did not partake of any of their restaurants or other services to honestly judge.

“Renaissance was a top class stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????”

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Cork, Ireland
Jul 29, 2008

From the moment we arrived the renaissance put a smile on our faces. In a perfect location in the centre of the city. In walking distance to every sight and with all main tour buses stopping on the square outside you could not have a better location. The rooms are large well appointed and very luxurious. Pool was large and very nice the only fault I had with the pool is it was very cold. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of food and drink. This hotel is certainly the best in Washington and is well worth the price.

“A Comfortable Stay”

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

Jul 11, 2008

I stayed in the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel for one night after spending the previous week in a different hotel for a convention. The staff was helpful and friendly. They took our bags early in the day which allowed us to spend the day sightseeing.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, especially the bedding. I did think they were on the small side, though. Fortunately, the five women in my group were able to spread out between two rooms.
The hotel is in a convenient location to Chinatown, the Metro, and many restaurants. This does mean that there is more street noise audible in the rooms. We passed on a shuttle to Reagan National Airport and took the Metro to catch our departing flight.

This hotel was a very good deal via Priceline and met our needs for the one night.

“Great location, clean rooms”

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Taylors, SC
Jun 23, 2008

The hotel is in a good location - within 15 minutes walking distance of the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Capitol Hill. The rooms are a bit small for the price paid, but were very clean and comfortable to stay in. The pool was closed, and the staff offered no apologies or alternate options, although the website claimed that alternate arrangements had been made. The lobby is nice, although the parking garage is dark and not my favorite place to be.

    • Liked — Great location
    • Disliked — Expensive internet - $10 for one day
