This was a great trip, we completely enjoyed ourselves. Although the hotel is expensive we felt as though we were paying for convenience, we had two teenagers and a toddler, so having the option of going back to the room during nap time and being close to the park while letting the teenagers do their own things worked out perfect. We stayed in the Dreams tower and it was very nice, seemed updated, clean and with 5 people in your family it was wonderful having the toilet behind it's own door and still having bathroom access, I know seems silly.

The staff was also very nice, everyone seemed so happy. My husband even forgot his wedding ring on the bathroom counter, (oh the horror), well I thought for sure it was a goner. When I called the hotel the day after we checked out they had the ring in lost and found, I was truly shocked and two days later the hotel staff had sent it to my house in Arizona. Now that's service.

If you have younger kids definetly do the character breakfast at Goofy's kitchen, we made reservations for 7am, (I know early), but there was hardly anyone there and the kids got lots of attention from the characters. So worth it!!!!!!! Memories they will never forget.

I would stay here again, it's pricey but if you like convenience and the entire Disney ambiance then this hotel is for you, if you don't care about any of that then I would suggest off property, but with kids I wouldn't do it any other way.

Disneyland Hotel

When staying at this hotel you are paying for the proximity to the parks and Downtown Disney. It's so nice to walk to your room after a long day of walking. I was surprised how well the room looked based on the poor condition of the exterior (elevators, hallway, carpeting, etc). The Wonder building has seen better days. It's not dirty (it's all well maintained), just worn.

It could have been just my experience but I notice the staff is not as tight as the WDW hotels. There were a lot of little things that stood out, for example:

* We had WDW passes, and they can be used in Disneyland but 3 different employees gave us wrong information on how to get this done. We lost 20 minutes of touring time as a result.
* The bellman took 20 minutes to get our bags at check out.
* The life guards at the pool had a don't care attitude.
* We were celebrating a child's birthday and they forgot to give us the button and signed picture at check in. We had to call and remind them.
* Goofy's Kitchen was excellent as it pertains to character greetings but are wait was longer then usual when the cashier accidentally put us behind the correct order (no apology)
* Many employees didn't know the location of specific rides or areas. Something I never saw at WDW.

Even with the items outlined above it was still a great stay b/c of the location and charm of the hotel.

“It was really pretty great...”

I have to say, after reading some of the reviews of this hotel i thought we were going to a total dive. From the time we walked in the door of the hotel, until we left 3 days later....everything was really seamless. We arrived at the hotel really early to register knowing our room wouldn't be available until 3 or 4 in the afternoon but we were planning on going to the park anyway- i am glad we did because we got a great room in the Wonder Tower on the 12th floor- a quiet corner room which was pretty big...i mean people complained that the rooms were small and dark--not ours it was pretty good. We paid about 350.00/night which is not that much for what you get. Staying so close to the parks is key. If you are not expecting the Four Seasons you will be pleasantly surprised by this hotel-yeah it's old, yeah the sheets aren't plush 600 thread count, yeah there is no spa-but really aren't you going with your kids? who by the way are going to freak out when they see Goofy in the lobby just waiting for them with no long lines of people like at the parks. One thing I do have to say is the room service menu was pretty limited...so we got take out from the restaurant downstairs-Hook's Point" the food was cheaper and better..i just brought it up to our room and my husband and i watched the firework display while our 3 boys slept comfortably on the 200 thread count sheets!
If you are thinking of this hotel as some romantic weekend getaway with your spouse and no kids..not such a good choice but if you are with your kids and they LOVE Disneyland and all the Disney stuff this hotel is for you. Have fun.

“Great Disney fun!”

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel is a great option if you're spending a couple of days at the Disneyland and/or California Adventure parks. The hotel is within easy walking distance of both parks as well as Downtown Disney, which offers shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

The rooms are comfortable. They're large (ours had two double beds) and decorated with all things Disney. (Disney wallpaper in the bathroom, glowing Tinkerbell wall border, neat cabinets, etc.).

My only complaint with the hotel is that there are various towers, and they are not connected. This means that when you need to see the front desk/concierge, you may have to walk to an entirely different building. Also, although nearly all of the Disney Hotel staff ("cast members") were fantastic, I had two bad experiences with the concierge. Everyone else is utterly fantastic, accommodating, and friendly.

I definitely recommend the Disneyland Hotel for anyone who is looking for easy access to the parks and a bit of the Disney magic throughout his/her whole stay.

“Not Up To Disney Standards”

Disneyland Hotel

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel July 14-17. The room was large and nice, with the exception of the bathroom faucet which looked like it had corrosion on it, and the view which was partially obstructed by an outdoor elavator shaft.

The staff was nice, however we had a huge complaint. The one time (over 3 days) we could actually get a seat at the Neverland Pool (which is nowhere near as large as the website makes it appears), some person decided to use the pool as a toliet, not once, but 2 times. No sooner did the pool reopen, in 15 minutes it was shut again because of the same issue. Evidently, it happened the day before we got there. Also, could not get in the hot tub as it was constantly filled with young children, even though the sign prohibits them. The Disney folks who work the pool area need to make people follow thier rule (i.e special diapers, no young kids in the hot tub etc.)

For $300 a night, plus a RESORT FEE, the least they can do is ensure you can use the pool once in a while. I requested a refund on the resort fee, but was told they would note our account for a manager to review, and given a couple of pins.

Again, the rooms were good, but the recreation needs a big improvement. Not enough pool area (i.e. pool and decking) for a hotel of that size. The folks in Anaheim need to go get training in Orlando to see how a resort should operate.
