As others have said, this riad is a gem, beautifully decorated and well located in the heart of the fascinating medina of Fes.

But the factor that truly distinguished this sojourn was the hospitality of Stephen and Bruno, who made us feel like friends and honored guests, as well as their wonderful housekeeper
Attica and their cat Natasha. They spent time with us, made a wonderful meal, arranged for my wife to have a wonderful time at the local hammam and have her hands decorated with henna, and arranged a side trip to see the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes. Equally important, they arranged to have us met at the train station, since we would never have been able to navigate to find the riad on our own.

My only (small) hope is that they will eventually be able to take credit cards, which would simplify payment considerably.

We stayed here just before Christmas 2007. We were made to feel totally at home! A beautiful place - full of character and charm. In a great location (in the middle of the labyrinth!) Expectional hospitality. An amazing building.

Riad Number 9 is fabulous. It is a feast for the eyes and sets the perfect pace for Fez. Every item in the Riad has been hand picked and is unique and gorgeous. The staff at the Riad were lovely, attentive but not intrusive, and made the trip a unique and wonderful experience. The food in the Riad was the best we had in Fez. It is perfect for a group of two to three couples as well as the can have the whole thing to themselves. I cannot write enough about it.

I visited Fez in October 07 with my fiance, and the highlight of our visit really was Riad Number 9. It is a little oasis of calm in the middle of the medina. It was absolutely lovely to return every evening, perhaps take a nap, listen to music, or even get treated to a lovely dinner specially cooked for the two of us with over 100 candles lit in all the windows of the central hall several stories high. This is not the sort of attention you get in your average rented accommodation. And that is precisely the point. This is not your average riad. The owner, Stephen, is so very helpful and able to arrange all sorts of things, such as a dinner cooked in-house (mentioned above) to a visit to Volubilis, which is a must see! He has exquisite taste, which is evident throughout the riad, as well as by his recommodations. His website is very impressive, and as he has lived in the West as well as the East, so he understands expectations of visitors from the West and the East to this marvelous medina which is so unlike anywhere else in the world.
