My wife and I stayed at the Aspen from 15 May to 20 May. Arrived Bangkok in the evening and on approaching the hotel, we found that the street leading to the hotel was a bit creepy. However, after the first night, we found out that it wasn't so bad after all. The hotel is value for money as upon checked in, we were being upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe room, which was bit more spacious as were told by the friendly receptionist. The room itself was spacious, tastefully decorated and everything is new. However, apart from thehard pillows (however the problem was being rectified upon our request to put in soft pillows the next day). The only setback, my wife and i found was the air vent of the air-con was blowing directly at the bed which we have to shift the bed to avoid the cold air at night.
As for the food, we think that the breakfast spread could be improved by providing bit more varieties. We had the same selection everyday for 5 days!!
In terms of the location, the hotel is quite centrally located, approx 10 min walk to the Skytrain-Phloen Chit Station.
Overall, we were quite statisfied with the hotel, friendly staffs, attentive service. The only improvement is maybe on the free shuttle service to the station, it would be good if they could extend the service till about 9pm for the convinience of the guests.
