We enjoyed our July 2008 and October 2007 stay at the Pathumwan Princess, since our previous visit the Ground floor, Reception Lobby and public areas have been refurbished and apparently floors from 25 up are currently refurbished with the remaining floors down, due to be done. In 2007 we had a superior corner suite but decided for our 2008 visit to chance an ordinary room and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and the size of the room on 24 floor with lounge suite etc. It was nice to round the day off with an evening coffee on the hotel ground floor cafe.....MBK shopping is always good and handy to drop excess shopping off in our room before heading out for more bargains. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful, tour guide desk has the most dedicated young lady who starts before 7am and is still there till 8.30 - 9pm. We had clothes made at Mens Ex Tailors 2nd floor MBK ask for Robin, as a guide we negotiated 1000 baht for a mans shirt , also had trousers made at a negotiated price and we were happy with the workmanship and price, only took a day and a half from measuring to delivery. I left a pair of my favourite trousers with Robin and had 3 of the exact style made in different fabric and colours. Nice informal place to eat is the Shogun resturant MBK ground floor near the esculators. As MBK closes 9pm 10ish try the night market for a change, ask the doorman for a taxi its only a 5 min 60 baht drive away, lots of places to eat here also. Its only a 400baht taxi drive to the airport, leave 3 hrs before flight departure there are always traffic jams in BangKok ..In regard to a crtical review that the Pathumwan Princess is not the standard of the Peninsula, neither is the price, and I think those rooms have just been refurbished...Cant wait to return
