We had a good time staying at the hotel.

I like to commend your restaurant manager/captain. Last Friday night, my Muslim staff came back to the hotel for buffet dinner when they could not find suitable food in Chinatown (a grave oversight by our tour leader!). Your staff noticed that their plates were filled with rice and very little else. When he found out that they were Muslims, he actually got the kitchen to prepare 4 small dishes for them. My Muslim staffs are grateful for the sensitivity shown. Please express my thanks to this staff and his team. It has made their stay in your hotel and in Bangkok very memorable.

I guess this is what Thai meant by "naam tsai".

I have stayed at other hotels in Bangkok (I usually go there on business several times a year), but I find for price, location and friendliness, the Tara has all the other hotels beat, hands down.
When in Bangkok, you want it all: the quietness to sleep well in a safe neighborhood, yet the close walking distance to the Sky Train (BTS) and to a good shopping mall (for a drugstore, or an umbrella, etc.)
The Tara has all that and more. It is a 7 minute walk to the Sky Train and only a few Sky Train stops to the main parts of Bangkok. This allows you the luxury of returning several times a day, to rest, relax, or just to drop off your shopping bags.
The shopping center that has 6 floors is next to the Sky Train stop and is called The Emporium. (Great Food Court at reasonable prices on the 5th Floor.)
Competition among the numerous Thai massage shops keep prices low in the neighborhood of the Tara. You can get a great foot massage for under $10 US, and a wonderful 2 hour Thai massage for under $20 US.

I have recently organized a trip to Bangkok in May 2008 with a group of 24 persons from Singapore and Malaysia . Upon our arrival at the Hotel we were given a warm reception and a welcome drink from the Hotel staff . We stayed at the Hotel for 5 days and 4 nights and were treated with excellence service and good hospitality from the staff . . Also the Hotel is conveniently located nearby to the Sky Train and the Emporium (Shopping Centre) only five minutes walk from the Hotel .Will definitely used this Hotel when we visit Bangkok again .

I have stayed at the Tara at least twice a year over the past 5 years. I have to say that the staff at the Tara makes me feel like a member of the family. I am a single woman in my 60s and I have always arrived around 1:00AM, after a 20 hour flight. They are always ready for me with a glass of cool tea, a smile, a "welcome back" and just the room that I had requested.

This very reasonably priced hotel is ideally situated 1 1/2 blocks from the Skytrain and the Emporium (a major shopping center). Banks, restaurants, upscale spas are also within 1 - 2 blocks. Even though Bangkok is a very big city, as an older woman, I feel completely safe walking around the Tara's neighborhood and its surrounding area, or when coming back to the Tara at night from the skytrain.

The Tara's rooms are always clean, comfortable and secure. They have both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Since I always requested a non-smoking room, there has never been a problem with a non-smoking room that has obviously had someone smoking in it.

This hotel also has an excellent breakfast buffet which will get you ready for a busy day of sightseeing and/or shopping.

I have also stayed at the Tara's sister hotel, the Queen's Park, and although that is an excellent hotel, the staff at the Tara really do make the difference for me. They really do offer the legendary Thai hospitality.
