I won't repeat what has been said in other reviews, other than to reiterate that this is a fantastic hotel.

We stayed in a deluxe suite which was more than big enough for the three of us & had a great view over the river.

Service was exceptional, from collection at the airport (with cold towels and water) through in room reception with fruit, chocolates and canapes, to the thing that impressed me most:

Having checked out we were taken to the airport in one of the hotels Mercedes, on arrival the driver got out our bags & I thought that was that - but no, two more hotel staff appeared and took us to check in - but then took us to the security gate to make sure we were in the right place.

A marvellous hotel - just cannot think of anything negative to say!!

I booked the Peninsula for one night of my recent trip to Bangkok due to the Trip Advisor reviews. Maybe because it's been in the #1 slot for a while I was expecting something phenomenal but honestly it fell short. You could tell that the hotel staff had been trained to give a high level of service but it just wasn't perfect. When we showed up for breakfast on the patio they didn't have any tables available that were shaded so they offered to make one up while we got our food at the buffet. We came back hands full of plates and they were pushing our table with another one for a different party and hadn't made up a table for us. We had to wait for a few minutes holding plates and juice for them to find us a seat and make up a table. Also, at breakfast they didn't offer us any water and we had to flag someone down to get a coffee refill.

The hotel itself was nice but we had just come from the Oriental which had Thai Silk fabrics and flowers everywhere, and just weren't impressed. Also, the music in the lobby was some cheesy lounge singer whereas in the Oriental they had a string quartet.

The room was impressive- cool gadgets everywhere. However, they are already starting to look outdated and I have a feeling that in a few years it will just look cheap.

At the Oriental the pay meticulous attention to detail but at the Peninsula everyone seemed disjoined. While we were at the pool three people asked us for our room number. They addressed us by name at the Oriental after asking who we were once. Also, the pool at the Pen was just ok. The cabanas were average- you didn't get a full sala even though it was sized that way- they each had a lawn chair sized pad to sit on.

This is a nice hotel but I would strongly recommend the Oriental if you want a riverside location. Also, we stayed at the JW for one night and that was even more striking than the Peninsula.

We stayed there for two nights and three days. It was a truly relaxing experience. The staff were friendly, the views from our room were amazingly gorgeous.

As usual every hotel / resort I go, I will always try their spa so I booked for 75 mins mum-to-be massage.

The booking procedure was quick, I was escorted to the relaxing area (The two-storey behind the pool) before the therapist took me to the treatment room. She explained everything before the treatment start from what oil she'd be using, the pressure, which area to avoid etc. I can tell that she is highly-trained therapist!. She knews what she was doing. I normally don't fall asleep during the massage but I did this time.

We liked the breakfast buffet, tons of selection!

We had dinner at Thiptara Thai restaurant. Personally I enjoyed it but some dishes could have been better. The service was excellent though.

It was a bit slow when we wanted to check-out because there were many guests waiting at the lobby. We didn't mind waiting, seeing the staff did their best to accommodate everyone.

We used the limo from the hotel to our next destinatio (They have Merc). It was pricey but it was an experience.

Please do not hesitate to stay there. We were hesitating between the Oriental and the Peninsula but finally we chose this one and we were not disappointed at all.

My husband and I stayed at the Peninsula Bangkok for three days while on our honeymoon. The hotel, staff, food, and our room were fantastic. It was easy to book activities at the hotel such as spa, salon, high tea, and dinner reservations. We took a river cocktail crusie on one of the hotel boats and it was great fun. Our spa experience was absolutely the highlight of our Penisnsula experience. The restaurants located withthin the hotel were great. Each day we planned activities outside of the hotel such as going to the weekend market, tours of the local wats, shopping & dining out and attending a Muay Thai boxing match. Each time the hotel helped us to properly plan our trips and gave us great advice, as well as followed up with us afterwards to make sure everything was okay.

Our room was beautiful and even the laundry service at the hotel was impeccable. It seemed that every request we had was fulfilled immediately. While this is a clear upscale hotel, we never felt that the hotel or staff were stuffy. We received superior service and I would highly recommend the Peninsula. If I was going back to Bangkok, I would be sure to stay at the Peninsula again.
