“Loved the Siam City Hotel”

My adult children, husband and I spent 5 nights at The Siam City Hotel. The hotel is excellent value, walking distance or a short 2 station subway ride to shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the arrangements I made online went without a hitch - they picked us up at the airport and shuttled us to and from their Pattaya Siam Bayshore Resort Hotel. There are several restaurants to try and all are excellent. There is even a tailor in the hotel if you want to get a suit made in 1-2 days! We would definitely stay here again!

“Siam City Hotel - Magnificent!!”

My husband and I stayed at the Siam City Hotel in November of 2008 and it was simply fantastic! We stayed in the Executive Level, and the experience was well worth the extra money. We absolutely love it here and will be back when we return to Thailand! The staff was very attentive and met and exceeded our every need. The hotel is very clean, and centrally located. I can't say enough great things about this hotel and its magnificent service! A great value!

“our little oasis”

this is a gorgeous hotel, very spacious and grand. the rooms were large and the marble bathrooms were beautiful. the side courtyard was great for kids to have a little play in. it is truly and oasis in the middle of the hussle that is bangkok. as for location not really in walking distance of anything, although there is a 7 11 next door for supplies, but the sky train is just a step away and from there u can access most places of interest and we found tuk tuk a cheap way to get around. the breakfast were one of the best we had in thailand and there buffet lunch menu was superb also one of the best meals. we went to kamon the japanese teppanyaki restaurant in the hotel, while it was good, parts were great (salmon) others (steak) were very mediocre for the price. all the staff were brillant we arrived with 2 small children @ 800 in the morning and were in our room by 830, also got a complimentry 1pm checkout the day we flew out as were not getting picked up till 2pm. overall a grand hotel would compete with most 5 star hotels i have stayed in.

“Much better in Bangkok”

Purchased a night over wotif.com and it is self rated as a 5 star. This hotel is no more than 3 star some distance from main shopping malls although easy by train. Its all very tired and if your looking for 5 star I would recommend Grand Hyatt ERwan, a little more expensive but worth it. Service was great just not up to expectations - wotif should take some responsiblity on that.

Your comments and suggestions made on Trip Advisor are of value to us but would like to correct your statement:

The Siam City Hotel is not a self-rated 5 star hotel, but a 5 star rating that is an officially earned award, given and controlled by the Thai Hotel Associations.

Taste is of course a very subjective matter. The Siam City’s Thai style, art décor might not fit with your expectations of a modern businessperson’s hotel, but this does not necessarily suggests that it is tired.

Concerning your advice, for staying at Grand Hyatt Erawan, I agree with you that it is a beautiful hotel with a very modern style. Only, it is not available for just a little bit more - it costs a lot more.

“Great Hotel atmosphere”

The Siam City Hotel is very nicely furnished hotel with spacious rooms. The staff are very accommodating and willing to call around in absence of convincing recommendations regarding local gastronomy and sights. Location is very reasonable to the sky train. Do try the Club Siam Deluxe suites (21st floor and above) - a nice value add. I would come back for another stay.
