“Great for Tourists”

The Siam City Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Queensland Australia
Sep 3, 2008

My wife and l spent a week here at the conclusion of a tour through China and India.
Whilst the Hotel is a little off the main tourist map, it is close to the light rail system. We found the Hotel as absolute value for money.
From the door staff, to reception and the dining staff, all were happy and helpful. Indicitive l guess of Thailand.
The food in the hotel was above average, and indeed a lovely mixture of Eastern and Western.
The general atmosphere throughout the hotel was 'genuine', and literally anhanced our stay.
The tours we booked through the hotel were not expensive, and indeed good value.
A late checkout was not an issue, and appears the norm. Indeed a pleasure to receive that reaction.
My only slur was to have a room with an adjoining door, though closed to another room. We found it was used by aitline staff who every night arrived late and were extremely noisy. Not much you can really do about that.
We would indeed stay here again, as it was indeed value for money.
For other Australians, there were indeed many staying at this Hotel.

Had another great time! The staff remembers us from our last trip, remembers breakfast and happy hour preferences, are like a second family. Very comfortable, will return to the Siam City whenmever I am in Bangkok.

“Loved The Siam City Hotel,Thailand”

The Siam City Hotel

Aug 30, 2008

My 20 year old daughter and myself(59) decided to go on a quick trip to Thailand. We only had a week of holiday and one day to organize things! Our travel agent was in shock at our impulsiveness but said he would arrange our travel and organize a good hotel in a safe area.We had no idea what to expect. We prepaid for airport pick up and return also to have breakfast included. Breakfast turned out to be a full International buffet from 5amm to 10am. We were picked up in a private car and driven to The Siam Hotel , from the moment we arrived to the day we left we were made to feel special. All the staff were very friendly, most spoke some English and we would definitely return here. The Skytrain was only a five minute walk from the front door and we felt very safe doing this. The cost for the Skytrain is only B20. There is a swimming pool and spa on the 6th floor and the food at all the restruants were absolutely fantastic. We tried the Japanese, Thai and International at dinner time. We also went on a tour to The Bridge on the River Kwai and to pat and Cuddle Tigers, we would also recommend this to everyone

“Excellent hotel - would stay again anytime”

The Siam City Hotel

Well what can i say.....i read another review of this hotel and thought it so unfair i would write one about our stay there this august.......

travelling with 2 teenagers we had 2 rooms - which were excellent . beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were exceptionally nice,

The staff are wonderful, nothing too much trouble , if only all hotels were as good as this.

the food was excellent as well , which always surprises me lol..

best tip...dont bother with tuk tuks or taxi drivers trying to rip you off......hire the hotel's mercedes (with driver) for 6,000 bhat per day, and he will take you anywhere you want to go and wait for you - we did this and it was the best decision we made ! - esp as we went to the tiger temple.

just a wonderful experiance -if only we had more than 3 days there.

“great family hotel”

we stayed in a family room at the siam hotel in july and were very happy with our experience. Our room was one of the largest i have stayed in and included two queen size beds( very comfortable), with enough space for our 4 suitcases plus room for my youngest to run around. The bathroom was large with lots of space. My husband used the gym each day and we also swam in the pool which seemed very quiet.
Breakfast was a very well laid out buffet which was fantastic with a good variety including one of my childrens favourite cereals Coco Pops but alas no vegemite. We ate in the Italian restauant one night which was very nice. The location of the hotel was excellent - just an easy 5 minute walk to the sky train .
Would definetly recommend this hotel for families and would stay here again
