had a great time , good location although beach better a few hundred meters from resort, although view from resort lovely. Picked up and returned to airport. with a tour of local area, great start to holiday. Sue perfect host . Staff very friendly Bar at night was a bit quiet during our visit but the night barman makes it all worth while and funny he realy makes an effort to get to know guests who are at the bar late at night. Lunch time snack food good . would recommend waterfront as a quiet chill out no hassle place to stay.

We were a group of friends gathering from several parts of the world for a 50th birthday celebration. From the time Michael collected the 14 of us, and our luggage, to the time they dropped us off, Sue, Michael and the staff were excellent.

On arrival at the hotel Sue had a cold drink waiting for us while she arranged for our luggage to be taken to our rooms.
The outlook from the hotel is spectacular, looking out to Koh Phangan. The pool is a little small, but quite sufficient. We didn’t spend much time lying around the pool during the day, just gathering there at the end of an adventure for a cocktail or beer at the bar.

The rooms are very nice and a good size. We had a ground floor room looking out to the sea, which was lovely. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The bedside lights are a little dim to read by, but we were usually too tired to read anyway. As in most hotel rooms there is no window to open, so you have to rely on air conditioning, but it was very warm and the air conditioning ensured a good night’s sleep. Clean linen, bath and beach towels were supplied everyday. Bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer were also provided.

We were a large group so transport could have been a problem, but Sue arranged a mini bus for us whenever we needed one. Cost wise it worked out well for us, better and easier than taxis. The red ‘bus’ from Chaweng is a good means of travel back to BoPhut.

For the 50th birthday celebrations, Sue and the staff were fantastic. They decorated the birthday girl’s bed with flowers spelling out Happy 50th Birthday circled in a heart of petals. It was beautiful. We went out for cocktails and when we returned they had decorated the deck area with balloons and streamers (which we had supplied) so we could have dinner overlooking the sea. They did all the work for us - decorating the area and setting the party table - all we had to do was supply the party favours. We ordered in food as Cookie doesn’t work at night. Sue also arranged lanterns for us to light on the beach. This is a must if you stay at Koh Samui, but get Sue to arrange for them as they are much cheaper than buying from a shop. Our friend had a wonderful, memorable birthday party.

Breakfast was always a good start to the day with juice, fresh fruit, cereal and a hot breakfast provided. Other meals provided by Cookie were delicious, but I would stick to Thai cuisine as this is what Cookie does best. Don’t expect an Australian hamburger in Thailand, as you will be disappointed, not because of the cooking but because the meat is not the same as Australian meat. However, anything we ordered from the Thai menu was absolutely delicious. I would recommend a Pad Thai washed down with a Mai Tai by the pool.

The hotel is situated at one end of BoPhut Beach and it is a short stroll to restaurants, bars, shops and massage. We all went to the Relax Massage just up the street and were very pleased with the massage, manicures, pedicures and facials we had – all at very good prices. Shopping is OK at BoPhut but better at Chaweng as the street there goes on for ever, where BoPhut is a small village.

We ate at the Happy Elephant, Starfish and Coffee and the Italian Restaurant at night and all were very good, both the food and the value for money. As we were a big group we had to book to seat us all together, but they were happy to prepare our bills in smaller groups, which made it easier for us. Lunch at Johnny’s in the side street is excellent value and delicious food.

The younger ones in our group made good use of the Jet Skis down the beach and on the last day we all had a go. As we were a large group we hired a boat from the people who own the jet skis to take us to Koh Phangan for the day. Better value than going on an organised tour as we could go where we wanted in our own timeframe. Cold drinks and snorkelling gear are supplied as part of the cost and the boys on the boat were fantastic, both in the way they looked after us and the way they handled their boat. Very safe.

We played golf at Santiburi Golf Course which was a great experience. The course is quite difficult, but the young female caddies made it fun. The views from the course are spectacular.

All in all it was a great place for our group. Thanks to Sue, her family and the staff we had a holiday to remember.

I stayed at the Waterfront with my wife, our three year old son and my wife's sister in a fantastic Beachfront Deluxe Bungalow. It was spotless and kept that way by the staff. From our balcony and from almost anywhere at the Waterfront there are beautiful views across the water to Koh Phangan. When we arrived our room was being made up, so we were given complimentary drinks and Sue and Robin, our hosts, sat with us and chatted. They were very friendly and obliging at all times during our six days with them. The Waterfront has a relaxed and rather intimate feel, and we all enjoyed the slow pace and peacefulness of the place. There is free internet, nice inclusive breakfasts, a fruit platter always on the table in the reception area and free use of mountain bikes, which were great for exploring the area. The Waterfront is ideally located right near the Bophut Village. The Village is away from the more publicised, hectic, & touristy Chaweng strip. There is enough along the main street in Bophut to make it an easy stroll for lunch or dinner or shopping. We ate at a different restaurant every night. Indeed you would have to spend a lot of time in Bohput to try them all
We fully expect to return to The Waterfront again.

Proximity to the pool and restaurants is great. Room was pleasant but mattress was on the hard side of firm. Older staff members were lovely, but younger ones were a little rude.

We arrived to Ko Samui after a long journey, but no one was there to pick us up. We called the hotel and after 10 minutes, the son Michael picked us up and apologised many times. Sue served nice cold drinks when we arrived, and apologised as well.

We had booked the Beachfront Family Bungalow, which was very nice, with an awsome view. The poolarea is nice, but the pool is very small - but big enough for the children to play in.

The hotel is very well located just a few minutes walk from the small Fisherman Village. With many good eating places and stores.

Sue was very nice and always asked if everything was OK.

We have to say, that the food at the hotel was terrrible! I had a chicken sandwich that was so dry and tasteless, that i could not eat it. The burger for our daugther, the meat was totally dry. The chef had NO LOVE in her cooking at all!
.
The breakfast was very boring. When we came 10.30 (they have breakfast until 11, nice if it works!) there was nothing left, and we had to ask if they would cut some fruit for us, and give us some ice for the warm juice. We could not choose our bread, they only served one kind of toast, 2 burned pieces, everyday the whole week!!. We have traveled in Thailand for many years, and on many small islands - and never had such a tasteles breakfast.

Then the smiles in the reception was very very rare. No good morning greetings, when Sue wasen't there. The two women in the kitchen looked at us, as they hated you.

Overall we had a good stay, and ate out every day! Its a ok hotel and Sue really try to make everything as good as she can. But she cannot be there 24 hours a day. The kitchen staff needs an seriously update.
