“Friendly staff, clean rooms & great location”

Hilton Suites Phoenix

Jul 29, 2008

We stayed one night at this hotel - July 23, 2009. This wasn't our first stay (see our previous review for our Mar 2007 stay). We were attending an Eddie Izzard performance at the Orpheum Theatre and the Hilton Suites is about 2 miles from there.

The check-in staff was friendly and informative. They offer shuttle service within 2 miles of the hotel but it stops at 10PM so we couldn't take advantage of it to go to the Orpheum.

Parking is $11 a day. They share a parking garage with the plaza next door but the garage is very close and accessible. We preferred parking there because it was under cover and we didn't want to leave our car in the 108 degree heat.

Our room was on the 11th floor. This is an all-suites hotel so each room has a separate bedroom, living room and a pass-through bathroom. There's also a desk with internet connections. We also had a wet-bar with coffeemaker and single-packet ground coffee, tea and sugar/cream packs. We had a small microwave and fridge. There wasn't a mini-bar in this room. Our room also had flat-screen TVs in both the bedroom and living room.

Our king-size bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! The sheets were clean and crisp and the bed was just the right firmness. Generally, this was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in as well.

The hotel restaurant is located in the center atrium. We had dinner there. Overall, they had a good selection and our pasta dishes were tasty but our garden salads look like they had been sitting inside the fridge way too long.

At check-in we were also given vouchers for free breakfast buffet. That was okay. The selection was small - the hot selections included scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, french toast, pancakes and oatmeal. There was also made-to-order omelets and cereal and pastries. Very little fruit was offered though. If you aren't given free breakfast vouchers, the cost would be around $12.00 per person.

The location of this hotel is near several large corporate buildings so there are quite a lot of business people staying here. During our stay, we didn't see any large groups of of kids or young people and we didn't experience any loud or boisterous parties.

We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in Phoenix to attend a nearby performance.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. The room was very spacious, clean and quiet. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, and it was also very good. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone without any reservations.

“loved our stay”

Hilton Suites Phoenix

Jun 6, 2008

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was beautiful. I had left a shopping bag in our room when we checked out and did not realize it was missing until we got home. I phoned housekeeping and they had my bag and mailed it to me that same day at no charge. How wonderful to deal with such honest people. We will stay here every time we come to Phoenix.

“Nice Hotel but overloaded with teenagers”

I have stayed at this hotel three times in the last month. Two times were for work the last time was for fun.

The hotel in itself is nice and the rooms are great. Room service is good but they do not offer alot of choices.

The first week there were several schools that had booked rooms for sport teams. These were high school aged kids and they were LOUD! I was not able to work in my room and it didnt calm down until way after midnight.

The second week was fine. No teenagers or sport teams and everything was wonderful.

The third visit we were back and groups and I mean groups of school cheerleaders were running around. The pool showed closing hours of 10 pm however kids were still screaming and swimming at midnight.

Overall the hotel is nice but most of the time is over ran with teenagers and it appears hotel staff does nothing to calm or quite the sittuation. If you dont mind the noise then it is a great hotel to stay at otherwise there are other nice hotels in the area.

“Nice roomy suite hotel”

Hilton Suites Phoenix

4 of 5 stars
Austin, Texas
Jan 17, 2008

We booked this via Priceline 2 months ago at $75/night for the Phoenix Rock and Roll Marathon (actually we did the 1/2 marathon). Check in was fast and we were given a room around noon.
The parking garage is $12/day if you park your car. I actually parked at a meter and since it was a weekend did not have to feed it. The hotel is an open atrium type hotel (it previously was a Embassy Suites- a sister Hilton property) and looked well kept. Our fifth floor room had the living area/separate bedroom plan. A mini-fridge, microwave and bar sink were there and operable. There was a coffeemaker (the one cup wafer type) but only 2 regular coffee wafers.
There were TV's in both rooms but neither were flat panel. The bath/dressing was roomy and clean with Crabtree and Evelyn products. There is a robe in the closet. Towels were nice and thick.
The firm bed had nice crisp sheets with lots of fluffy pillows. I slept well both nights. USA TODAY was left at our door each morning. The rooms were fairly quiet and the a/c worked fine. The only thing I missed was the free happy hour and free breakfast one associates with Embassy Suites. There is a place to eat but we didn't try it. All and all worthy of a 3 star hotel.
It is a mile or 2 from the downtown and sport arenas. We had to drive a aways to find non-chain places to eat.
