I am a Marriotts Gold Rewards member and you'd expect a little extra service. I came in at 230pm and went to the Elite line, I was told no room was ready (we had 2 rooms reserved) if we wanted 2 rooms together. Since my parents were tired I said thats ok and without batting an eyelash she said there are just no rooms. Interestingly enough the line for regular rooms were getting checked in by this nicer lady. I left and lined up with the regular line and got to check in 2 rooms beside each other. I think its the manner of how she said it and if you work in the front desk you should provide good customer service. Customers walk in after a long day, tired and the last thing you need is someone being rude to you. There are a lot of other hotels nearby people could choose and they should be taught that they should treat their guests with respect if they want their business. So whats the use of the Marriotts Gold card?

“Clean and quiet”

Los Angeles Airport Marriott

Aug 6, 2008

We just stayed for one night after a very long flight, but we really liked this place! We arrived late at night at L. A. Airport and took the shuttle service to the hotel. People at check-in were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the beds very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise from outside the hotel and most other guests tried to be quiet as well.

“A good choice”

I have stayed at many different LAX airport hotels, and this is probably my favorite. You're not going to be wowed by any means, but it's everything you expect from a Marriott.

LOCATION-
Straight down the road from LAX maybe a half mile. Catching the shuttle can be a daunting process (as it would be for any airport hotel here). The arrivals roadway is very, very busy and there are thousands of cars and vans all whizzing by. It comes by on a random schedule and serves both the Marriott and Renaissance.

PROPERTY-
This is a Marriott relic that has been redone many times over. But I like this "old style". There is a beautifully landscaped courtyard pool area surrounded by a 5-story tower. There is also a tall18 story tower as well. I prefer to stay in one of the lower floors by the pool. If you request an even numbered room (ending in 00,02,04,06, etc) you will have a nice balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool. 1st floor even-numbered rooms actually have a patio that walks straight out to the pool.
Can you tell I have stayed here many times??? I think this pool area is a small respite in the busy LAX area.

ROOMS-
For the most part, small. I've had some rooms that were bigger than others, although it's kind of random. The rooms are standard updated Marriott - very nice. Fabulous bedding and small but luxurious bathrooms. No surprises here but you'll be very comfortable.

FOOD-
I have been in the lobby bar. They have great food and a nice selection of drinks, but it's very, very expensive.

It's hard to do better than this if you need an LAX hotel.

“great night's sleep”

Los Angeles Airport Marriott

5 of 5 stars
San Francisco
Jul 29, 2008

I traveled from Jordan to London to LA. Before I continued on my journey, I was in need of a comfortable bed a hot shower and decent room service. I found all of that and more at the LAX Marriott.

There are hotel shuttle buses that circle the airport. They will pick you up at specific boarding locations outside your terminal building. Each bus goes to a couple of hotels that are near each other. The wait isn't very long, about 10 minutes.

There was one person ahead of me at the check in line. I was greated with a smile by the staff member behind the counter. He was quick and efficient in giving me my room key.

This hotel is huge and very busy, however, I didn't hear a single sound from anywhere in my remodeled, extremely comfortable room.

I ordered room service and was told it would be 45 minutes, it was at my door in 20! The food was quite good.

The small bathroom was spotless with bath and body works aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner and cream. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. My king sized bed was so comfortable, I felt as if I was sleeping on a cloud. There were 5 pillows on the bed, various sizes, take your pick....

There was a desk, comfortable chair, large TV with digital cable, a large, illuminated, bedside clock (easy to see without your glasses....LOL...) as well as good lights for reading.

I slept like a baby and was ready to get up and face the next day's travel refreshed and well rested.

Thank you Marriott LAX.....

We stayed overnight at the Marriott when we came in from Auckland and were waiting for our flight the next day to Dallas. Service was excellent - the luggage porter went above and beyond to help us and talked to us in a friendly manner - he even got us extra bottled water and a newspaper after he'd dropped off our luggage. He came the next day when we were checking out and was polite once again. The room looked great as well - very posh to us - the 18th floor w/ a big flatscreen tv - very nice :) We ordered room service and it was great - the desserts were lovely and the pool was wonderful as well. They brought us a crib for our 3mth old twins and it was pretty secure and not that old so I felt safe putting them in it. Overall this was a wonderful night we had in LA at the Marriott.
