I have stayed at the Hilton LAX before and have found it wanting on each occasion. This trip was entirely different. The front desk staff was extremely polite- a big change. There was, however, still a huge line if you are not a Hilton member. Recommend reserving online and using zip check in.

The hotel itself has undergone a renovation and it really is beautiful. Our room was very nicely appointed, newly decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The new pool and whirl pool area is a very nice addition. No complaints this stay. Very nicely surprised!

I was in room 1552, and though I asked for room 1572, I was ok with the room I got. The room was spotless and everything was in order...

Check-in was quick and the check-in staff was affable, even considering how busy it was. there was some kind of chess tournament going on, a couple of wedding receptions and other events, and lots of people checking in and out...

I had dinner at The Cafe, and busy though it was, the food and service was superb. My waiter (name of Victor) was great...

I ordered room service breakfast the next morning, and I requested it be delivered at 7:15, and at 7:13 it arrived. The eggs were cooked exactly as requested to my happy surprise. It was a most enjoyable breakfast to be sure...

The shuttle to the airport was quick, and the wait like 7 or 8 minutes. That was acceptable considering how busy it was when I left...

I didn't see any justification for some of the recent negative reviews. On previous overnighters I've stayed at the Sheraton Gateway and once at the Radisson, and I feel that's a good basis for comparison considering I fly to/from Manila 4 - 5 times a year and always do an overnight before flying out to Manila...

I will make the Hilton my overnight choice in the future...

The hotel is good for location to the airport, it was clean, and the restaurants were good, breakfast was great.

Sadly the rooms are very run down, and need upgrading.

Good for the price for a one night stay.

I spent just one day in July at the Hilton Los Angeles on my way back to the east coast. I have stayed there before, and the service was just as excellent as always. Check-in is quick, they arrange for your parking lot ticket, and then I am off to a great room.
It is close to LAX and the rental car locations, so I can drop off my car the night before and take the hotel shuttle. The staff is friendly and helpful from the doorman to the check in to the shuttle diver.
They have several choices off the lobby to eat and drink. The Hilton has the best variety of all the hotels near LAX.
I use the shuttle to go to the airport. I do not remember a driver that was a pleasant and worked to help everyone with their luggage and make sure they got off at the right stop. I know it is hard to stand out as a shuttle driver, but this person did. The attitude of all the staff is just great.
In my travels I stay at a lot of hotels, and I look forward to my stay at the Hilton. The staff is great, the rooms are always clean and comfortable, there a lots of choices to eat and drink, and the internet access works every time.
I highly recommend the Hilton when you are in Los Angeles.
