This place is great!! Just stayed here 9 days, the service is excellent! Breakfast is good for a continental breakfast “bought from a local bakery” but gets a little old eating bagels and bread for a week. Sometimes they put out cinnamon buns which we always looked forward to getting YUMMY. Other than that the only other thing is parking sucks. If you find a spot awesome leave your car in park, don’t move it lol. If you lose the spot you were in or if you don’t find one at all, you will spend $15-$20 per day to park it in a garage. The other option is in a paid parking lot $5-15 hr depending on what’s going on in the Key West. Park your car and rent a Scooter...it will make your vacation a little more enjoyable!! And did I mention the rooms are very nice....

We spent a night at the Island City House during a tour of Florida in July 2008, and this was our favourite hotel of them all, despite being one of the least expensive.
We had a two-bedroom suite with a single bathroom. It wasn't the biggest suite we've ever stayed in; both the bedrooms and the bathroom could best be described as 'cosy', but it was perfectly comfortable.
It's an old building, right in the centre of the old town in Key West, and has been sympathetically updated. The room had a small sitting/dining area, and a nice balcony outside.
The hotel comprises 3 or 4 buildings, grouped around a small garden, full of tropical plants and palm trees. There are a few tables under the palm trees, where the included breakfast is served.
There is also a pleasant little pool with several loungers available for guests.
We absolutely loved our stay here, and wished we had time to stay longer. We will certainly be back, if we ever get the chance to visit Key West again.

After about three weeks of searching through hotels on various websites we figured we would try a b and b instead of the common hotel chain. And doing so made an amazing selection with Island City House. Location was located just out of the hussel and bussel but also close enough to walk to Duval Street (nice 10 minute walk, and 5 minute bike ride.) The hotel itself was kept up very nicely and perfect for a romantic getaway with its large rooms and beautiful tropical scenery. As every one knows most hotel beds are not the greatest, but don't worry the beds and even the pillows portrayed a perfect nights sleep. The pool setting was tropical and clean, yet never over crowded. What really set this hotel apart from other "great" hotels was the staffing. From the minute we booked the hotel to the second we left, a lending hand was always there making us feel they really cared. Another plus was the fact they had bike rentals right on site, for a decent price. I would recommend this location for romantic getaways and a family retreat. By the way we stayed in the Island City House room.

Wow! What a surprise! With the price of this place I didn't expect much. But we were very pleasantly surprised. I surprised my husband for his birthday and we had such a great time. It is not like your typical bed and breakfast where you know everyone staying there. It is much less personal, which we liked. Some people were down for breakfast, but we just got ours and went to our room.
The room is AWESOME! Very large with a great updated kitchen. It is a bit more than a few blocks from Duvall, but we walked there many times. We usually rented the bikes available for $12/day and would get there in a few minutes. In fact, we had our bikes stolen at Sloppy Joes and when we were expecting to have to purchase the two bikes, the front desk lady was more than nice and they actually found them and did not charge us. People really do steal them, so be careful.
The beds weren't the best, and we heard the people above us in the morning ( we were second floor in the cigar house) but after walking past several other bed and breakfasts, we knew we were so lucky to find such a nice place at such a great price.
The front desk is so nice and helfpul and the grounds are beautiful. We will definately be staying here the next time we visit.
There is a GREAT irish place around the corner (it is on their suggested eating menu which you will find in your room) and I had the BEST chicken pot pie I have ever had! And I am from the south!
Long story short- great place, awesome front desk, pretty good location, awesome price! Perfect for families who would like to cook some dinner's themselves (fridge, oven, etc.)
We will be back on our next trip to Key West for sure!
