I don't know what the other reviewers were thinking when they gave this place the thumbs up - but it is a DUMP! The cheezy 80's furnishings that have not been cleaned since they were installed smelled and were filthy! The floors and the carpets were dirty. The service - or lack of - is laughable.... y husband went to ask why our sheets were not changed and they said "we change sheets on Wednesday"!!!! EWWWWW the sheets on the pull out were used when we arrived! Double EWWWWW! No food anywhere, no maid service! If you use a dish be prepared for it to be left for you to wash in the sink!
The beautiful hotel next door was less expensive and a 4 star resort. This dump charged us $350 a night for the worst room I have ever stayed in! It was maybe worth $75 a night! Sleazy and white trashy! If you are looking for something with any elegance or service don't make the same mistake we did! Stay away from this place! However if you and your family are the motel 6 lot - this is the place for you!

My husband and I recently stayed at this resort while in Key West. The hotels in Key West are very expensive and we were just looking for a quick getaway. This was a great choice because it is much more economical than some of the other places. The resort is so peaceful and relaxing because it is directly on the water with great views of the ocean. It is in a residential neighborhood so you have to walk to Duvall (probably about 20 minutes to the main area) but it's a nice walk. There are beautiful homes, unique shops and restaurants and very nice people along the way. There is no restaurant on site but a really nice restaurant next door. The property is actually a timeshare but DO NOT let this scare you away. No one bothered us and if anything, the rooms were spotless and the grounds were superbly maintained. Since the resort is small there was always enough chairs around the pool and on the sun deck. We will definetly return to this property!

We came to Key West for a quick 4 day stay with friends and wanted to share a suite or condo. We found Coconut Beach on-line and decided to give it a try. After not investigating far enough and finding out it was a time-share we became apprehensive. But to our dismay it was the MOST AWESOME place we could have picked! It is off the beaten path of Duval,(scooters and electric cars are a must, but worth it) but completely worth staying at! It is on the Atlantic so it seemed like our own quiet tropical get away! We could escape the craziness of Duval to relax! The grounds were beautiful, staff was accomodating (even with a slight mix up for the first night, we wanted to share accomidations and were given separate studios- they fixed it and gave us a discount on our stay for their mistake) Plenty of room, all the necessary kitchen equipment and gadgets. Cleaning staff was very attentive they even washed our dirty dishes in the sink and loaded the dishwasher! The only thing I could have asked for was a later check out but, we were allowed to stay on the grounds and store our luggage in the lobby/office area though. We would definately stay again and have already recommended it to others! Very pleasant surprise for a time-share!

This place was fabulous! Located right next door to Louie's Backyard--we had the same fantastic views without paying extra for them. We rented a 2 bdrm suite (an efficiency and 1 bedroom connected) on the top floor of the D bldg, and I have only 1 regret... that we couldn't stay longer! The rooms were clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable--loved the rocking chairs on the porch, and the sound of the Atlantic waves. It was a short walk to get to Duval Street, and then of course you'll walk MANY blocks on the active part of Duval itself. Wear comfortable shoes, and DO rent bikes or scooters for a day to see more sites.
