This hotel is ideal for introducing yourself to what a Maui beach resort is all about. Really nice for families, couples, all ages.
KBH is next door to the Sheraton Hotel, which has the luau and Black Rock for snorkeling, diving.
The beach walk also takes you straight to the Whaler's Village, great for casual shopping and dining.
Keep walking and you'll pass some time share resort properties as well as the Westin Hotel with its grotto and swans and big crowds, and then the Hyatt is all the way at the other end of the beach path.
The atmosphere at KBH is relaxing and pleasant, and there are very nice remodeled rooms in the Maui and Lanai wings.
Mixed Plate Diner is the breakfast buffet cafeteria and offers better value and choice than the Tiki Terrace, which is outside, more picturesque but also much pricier. The hotel's fresh pineapple is phenomenal.
KBH staff are plentiful, accomodating and knowledgeable. They very much have Hawaiian spirit so you feel really welcome and comfortable at this hotel.
The hotel makes a point of welcoming returning guests as well as people there on special occasions.
Last summer booking a room and car package direct at the hotel website worked out well. KBH used Dollar Rental, which provided a good reliable compact.
You can even get a courtesy room for 30 minutes on your day of check-out, if you want extra time at the beach.
All in all, an excellent holiday at a super relaxing hotel.
