Traveling With Small Children
The Mexican opinion about where children are welcome is much broader than that of people in the U.S. When traveling with babies and infants, Latin Americans often move you to the front of the line. "Family comes first." is something they practice with pride.
Of course one would not take children into a night club or to an activity that is age inappropriate, like para-sailing. There is no need, however, to worry that children would be unwelcome in an elegant restaraunt, or almost anywhere else. Mexicans love children and are very family oriented. The fact that visitors to their country bring children with them is greeted with strong approval. When in doubt, bring the kids.
If you have a minor health need, the pharmacies in Mexico are staffed with well educated medical professionals. They are helpful to tourists, but far more so to tourists whose children have needs. The pharmacy is an excellent place to seek front line medical advice in Mexico. The pharmacist will refer you to a doctor, and help you find one, if needed.
